FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

What are Magnets?
A magnet is an object made of certain materials which create a magnetic field. Every magnet has at least one north pole and one south pole. By convention, we say that the magnetic field lines leave the north end of a magnet and enter the south end of a magnet. If you take a bar magnet and break it into two pieces, each piece will again have a north pole and a south pole. If you take one of those pieces and break it into two, each of the smaller pieces will have a north pole and a south pole. No matter how small the pieces of the magnet become, each piece will have a north pole and a south pole. It has not been shown to be possible to end up with a single north pole or a single south pole which would be a monopole (“mono” means one or single, thus one pole).

What are Cow Magnets?
Cow magnets are popular with dairy farmers and veterinarians to help prevent Hardware Disease in cattle. While grazing, cows eat everything from grass and dirt to nails, staples and bits of bailing wire (referred to as tramp iron). Tramp iron tends to lodge in the honeycombed walls of the reticulum, threatening the surrounding vital organs and causing irritation and inflammation, known as Hardware Disease. The cow loses her appetite and decreases milk output (dairy cows), or her ability to gain weight (feeder stock). Cow magnets help prevent this disease by attracting stray metal from the folds and crevices of the rumen and reticulum. One magnet works for the life of the cow!

What are Wrap Magnets?
Wrap Magnets are strong neodymium magnets with 25 lbs. pull which keep vehicle wrap graphics firmly in place without slipping while being applied. The easy-grip patented design allows you to reposition and hold graphics in place quickly and easily throughout the application process, saving time and money. The polystyrene casing prevents scratching or marring of the graphics during installation. Each Vehicle Wrap Magnet, approximate size ¾” D x 1” W x 4” L, includes a Magnetic Shield™ to block unwanted magnetism during storage. Also, the long rectangular shape helps graphics to conform to the contours of a vehicle better than round magnets. In addition to convenience and ease of use, magnets are reusable making them more economical than disposable tape.

What other functions can I use my Wrap Magnet for?
The Wrap Magnet is a multi-function tool. It can be used as a stud locator, nail starter or plumb bob. Remove the Magnet Shield™ and move it across a wall’s surface until it attracts the hidden drywall screw or nail where the stud is located. On one end it magnetically holds a nail, screw, rivet or staple in a starting position to prevent thumb injuries. Tie a string to the eyelet on the other end and the Wrap Magnet acts as a plumb bob.

What other things can a Cow Magnet do?
A Cow Magnet can be used to retrieve small items, as a toy for children to collect iron fillings in sand boxes or as an educational tool. Tie a string around it, secure the string with tape then go fishing for that lost nut, bolt, screw or other metal item in waterways, down a hole or maybe just out of reach. Collect as much iron filing you can at the playground sandbox or beach. Educate children about the mysteries of magnetism.
